The PF Goalies of the Month for March 2026
Each month, we recognize three goaltenders from the Pete Fry Goalie Mindset community who are performing at a high level and demonstrating what happens when preparation, confidence, and mindset come together in the crease.
For March, we’re recognizing Jakub Dobes, Josh Ravensbergen, and Easton Rye: three goaltenders who continue to prove that elite performance starts with how you think, prepare, and compete.

Jakub Dobes - Montreal Canadiens (NHL)
March Stats: 7-2-0 | 1.78 GAA | .942 SV%
Jakub Dobes put together an absolutely dominant month of March at the NHL level, going 7-2-0 with a 1.78 goals-against average and an elite .942 save percentage for the Montreal Canadiens. In a month where every game mattered, Dobes consistently gave Montreal a chance to win and played a massive role in keeping the Canadiens firmly in the playoff race in the Atlantic Division.
His confident play didn’t go unnoticed. Dobes was named the Molson Cup winner for March by the Canadiens and also earned NHL First Star of the Week honors after a stretch in which he was one of the hottest goaltenders in the league. He stopped 100 of 104 shots over one three-game run and continued to elevate his game as the pressure ramped up.
What makes his month even more impressive is the history attached to it. Dobes has now reached 25 wins in his rookie season, passing both Patrick Roy (23) and Carey Price (24) for rookie wins in Canadiens franchise history. For a franchise with that kind of goaltending legacy, that’s a remarkable accomplishment, and one that says a lot about the level he’s playing at right now.
What stands out most about Jakub’s game is his confidence under pressure. He looks composed, competitive, and completely unfazed by big moments. Right now, he’s not just having a strong month... he’s becoming one of the biggest goaltending stories in the league.
Joshua Ravensbergen - Prince George Cougars (WHL)
March Stats: 9-0-0 | 2.29 GAA | .926 SV% | 1 SO
Josh Ravensbergen was simply lights out in March, finishing the month with a perfect 9-0 record while posting a 2.29 goals-against average, .926 save percentage, and one shutout. Every time he stepped into the crease, he gave Prince George a chance to win and found a way to shut the door.
His body of work over the full regular season has been just as impressive. Ravensbergen finished the year 1st in the WHL in wins, 1st in save percentage, Top 5 in goals-against average, and tied for 2nd in shutouts... an outstanding combination of consistency, workload, and high-end performance. The Michigan State University committed goaltender continues to establish himself as one of the premier young netminders in junior hockey. That kind of season doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of a goalie who shows up prepared and ready to compete every single night.
Now, he’s carried that momentum into the postseason. Prince George is currently up 3-2 in their first-round playoff series against Spokane, and Ravensbergen continues to look every bit like the backbone of a team with legitimate playoff aspirations.
What makes Josh’s game so impressive is how controlled he looks. He plays with poise, tracks pucks well, and doesn’t seem to get rattled when games tighten up. That’s the kind of mindset that allows a goalie to not just win games, but completely control them.
Easton Rye - Peterborough Petes (OHL)
March Stats: 8-4-0 | 2.41 GAA | .927 SV% | 1 SO
Easton Rye followed up a strong February with another outstanding month in March, going 8-4-0 with a 2.41 goals-against average, .927 save percentage, and one shutout for the Peterborough Petes. He continued to give his team steady, dependable goaltending and once again proved why he has been one of the top netminders in the OHL this season.
When the regular season came to a close, Rye finished 1st in the OHL in wins by a goaltender and 5th in save percentage, a reflection of both his consistency and his ability to deliver under a heavy workload. The Bentley University committed netminder has been a major reason for Peterborough’s success all season long, and his game continues to show a level of maturity that stands out.
That momentum has now carried into the playoffs, where Peterborough is currently battling in a hard-fought first-round series against the North Bay Battalion, with the Pete's currently down 3-2 in the series. In playoff hockey, where every save can swing a series, Easton continues to show the type of calm, resilient presence that teams rely on when the pressure is highest.
What makes Easton so valuable is the consistency in his approach. He competes hard, stays mentally engaged, and keeps finding ways to perform in key moments. That kind of reliability is one of the clearest signs of a goalie whose mental game is in a strong place.
We’re proud to recognize Jakub Dobes, Josh Ravensbergen, and Easton Rye as our Goalies of the Month for March. Each of them showed a different version of elite goaltending this month: confidence, composure, consistency, resilience, and the ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most.
At the highest levels of the game, talent alone is never enough. The goaltenders who continue to separate themselves are the ones who train their minds as seriously as they train their bodies.
These three are incredible examples of what that looks like in action.
