The University of Mind Goalies of the Month for April 2025
We’re proud to spotlight three goaltenders who continue to raise the bar and represent the elite level of mindset and performance that defines our goalie community. Let’s take a closer look at our Goaltenders of the Month for April!

Carter George – Ontario Reign (AHL)
April Stats: 2-2-0-0 | 3.76 GAA | .914 SV%
Carter George continues to turn heads with his steady rise through the hockey world. After a strong season with the Owen Sound Attack, Carter made his professional debut with the Ontario Reign in the AHL—where he delivered an unforgettable shutout performance in his very first pro start. Drafted 57th overall by the LA Kings in 2024, Carter’s calm under pressure and elite poise between the pipes are already shining at the next level. His transition from junior hockey to the AHL was seamless, proving that his game—and mindset—are pro-ready.
Austin Elliott – London Knights (OHL)
April Stats: 10-0-0-0 | 2.37 GAA | .898 SV%
Austin Elliott is in absolute playoff mode. The London Knights netminder has gone a perfect 10-0 so far in the 2025 OHL Playoffs, including a standout shutout performance against the Erie Otters. With composure and consistency anchoring one of the top teams in junior hockey, Elliott has proven himself as a goaltender who delivers when it matters most. After finishing the regular season with the best GAA and save percentage in the OHL, Austin is carrying that same dominance deep into the postseason.
Burke Hood – Vancouver Giants (WHL)
After a breakout rookie season with the Vancouver Giants, Burke Hood has earned the honor of being named to Team Canada’s roster for the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship in Texas. This marks his first time donning the maple leaf, a dream come true for the young goaltender. With highlight-reel saves and consistent composure all season, Hood has established himself as one of the WHL’s top emerging talents and is now ready to show what he can do on the international stage.
April was a month of milestones, momentum, and major moments for our goaltenders. Whether earning pro shutouts, leading playoff runs, or earning a spot to represent their country on the world stage, these goalies continue to prove that preparation meets opportunity. The future is bright—and these athletes are just getting started!
